The Problem with Women’s Magazine’s
» By Shipwreck - Oct 27th, 2007
Do you spend hours each month reading glossy magazine articles such as ‘How to Please Your Partner’, ‘Relationship on the Rocks? - What to do about it’ or ‘How to master the one-night stand’? Ladies, whilst there is some truth in what is said, there’s one major flaw with these articles - they’re written by women!
Your best advice on relationships and sex has to come from a male - after all, if it’s compatability you’re after (whether it’s for a few hours or a lifetime), you need to hear what the opposite sex has to say.
Guest Writers: Over the next few weeks I will be getting some of my guy friends around Australia to contribute to this blog, so you can see what men of all ages think on a number of revealing topics. We’ll show you photos of these guys, give you a good run-down of their careers, family backgrounds, relationship history, and even post a couple of pics of them that you can drewl or puke over (depending on your taste in guys).
Shipwreck’s off now to set this thing up properly so we can get some good discussion and feedback happening. I’m excited about this!

Will guys buy a womens magazine even if a guy has written it? What will be on the cover … a motorbike or surfboard … how do you get guys to pick the magazine up in the first place. On another matter, I think it is time women started designing appliances for the home eg vaccuum cleaners!!!
Thanks for your comments Nancy.
I agree with you totally that girls would not buy a magazine with a motorbike or surfboard on it, but I think women’s magazines should have more male input. They can still retain the ‘womens’ feel about them (in fact I’ve got a Cosmo sitting right next to me on my desk with Jessica Alba on it), but I think readers (correct me if I’m wrong) may feel more intimate if more articles are written by guys.
A good example of this is when models or the ‘girl next door’ are interviewed in the likes of FHM or Playboy magazines - guys get turned on because it’s like they’re actually interacting with the person.
I’m all for better home appliances!
